Nothing. But in this case, it’s that the R model is the only answer to the lack of a manual in the GT3. If you want a PDK Porsche, cool. There are 47 different versions of the 911 you can get one in, but not this one.

Three pedals is nice in my pickup but if I owned a Porsche I’m sure I could find a way to stomach two.

I’m a huge fan of the manual shifting, but seriously, there is no practical reason to choose one anymore. It’s antiquated technology that only endures, at an enthusiast reason, for esoteric, bullshit reasons.
It’s like only using a computer that uses DOS because there is more typing.

True. I myself would probably get the PDK but the R is literally the GT3 RS for people who couldn’t stomach the PDK, and here this guy is saying that the R should have a PDK.

I feel manual shifting brings you closer to the mechanical processes of the vehicle. We're so coddled in every facet of life, its refreshing to have to be part of the system, rather than just mashing the "go" pedal. I realize that PDK is faster and probably better for the vast majority of people, but I like to drive rather than ride.

The sad fact is I will probably never get to drive one. Maybe one day when I am older and they are 20-25 years old and someone let it sit in their garage and rot away.
